The teacher aide assists school personnel in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The position is hired by and directly accountable to the principal, who determines the specific assignment. The aide must abide by Archdiocese and local school policies and support a Catholic education environment.

• Accept position‑related duties directed by the principal to facilitate the overall operation of the school program.
• Follow established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of the students.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school and classroom matters.
• Attend faculty and staff meetings when required.
• Assume the position assigned by the principal.
• Follow direction of the classroom teacher to whom the aide is assigned.
• Supervise and/or assist students throughout the day.
• Perform clerical duties as needed.
• Circulate and offer assistance to students struggling with the material, either referred by the teacher or based on observation.
• Monitor students during whole‑group activity to keep them on task.
• Help keep the classroom neat, clean, and orderly, following basic sanitation procedures.
• Engage students in conversation throughout the day.
• Arrange and display student work and learning materials.
• Follow procedures to ensure the safety and health of the students.

The principal assigns specific tasks essential to the function of the position.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet compliance with Safe Environment requirements.
• Must respect the Catholic faith.

Hourly salary: $17.75. Pay is based on education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
