Self-Contained K​/Structured Teaching Classroom Teacher

Libertyville School District 70 is seeking a Self-Contained Kindergarten/1st/2nd Structured Learning Classroom Teacher for Butterfield School for the  school year. We seek a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our team as a Self-Contained Kindergarten Classroom Teacher. This role involves creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and similar disabilities in kindergarten. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structured teaching, experience working with early elementary, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.

Benefits include: 2 Personal and 12 Sick days; $2,200 Tuition Reimbursement;
Life, Medical and Dental Insurance; annual $550 457 Contribution; and $400 Workshop/Conference Allotment. The salary is based on the placement on the Salary Schedule.

Qualifications:

• Appropriate State of Illinois License in Special Education (K-12) or Early Childhood Education.
• Student teaching and/or current experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder, preferably in a self-contained classroom.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices for teaching students with autism, including ABA techniques, structured teaching, and sensory integration strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and outside professionals.

Purpose: To help young students with autism grow and develop.
