We are seeking an experienced Molding Tooling Engineer with strong expertise in injection molding, mold design, tooling development, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with medical product manufacturing, thermoplastic/thermoset molding processes, hot runner systems, and tooling validation. This role will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure molds meet quality, cost, and efficiency requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and engineer moderately complex molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions based on product requirements and manufacturing specifications
- Support mold design reviews and perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations
- Review, approve, and qualify mold designs following established processes, including FIR/FRP validation standards
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and design teams to ensure tooling meets quality, performance, and production requirements
- Optimize injection molding processes, including hot runner systems, cycle time improvement, and defect reduction
- Troubleshoot tooling, molding, and process‑related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support mold sampling, qualification, validation, and final part approval activities
- Work with tooling departments on mold repair, modification, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop cost‑effective tooling design improvements and process enhancements
- Maintain tooling documentation, engineering records, and equipment‑related documentation
- Provide regular project status updates and communicate progress to stakeholders
- Support production teams with injection molding process troubleshooting and technical guidance
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or related field; equivalent technical experience may be considered
- Thermoplastics and thermoset materials
- Mold design, tooling validation, and troubleshooting
- Medical product manufacturing environments
- Mold flow analysis and process optimization
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, including hot runner systems
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing molds and tooling used in manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret tooling drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Strong understanding of mold qualification and validation processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER (ProE) / Creo and Windchill
- Experience with Solid Works
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
- Basic understanding and hands‑on capability with injection molding machine operation is preferred
- Component identification and color coding
