Lead Financial Analyst

I'm partnering with a global medical device manufacturer headquartered in Lake County on a newly created Lead Financial Analyst seat supporting their Canadian business unit.

This is not a reporting role. The hiring manager was direct about what he's looking for: someone who can sit across from sales and marketing leadership and explain the why behind the numbers — not just deliver the variance file. If you've ever been the analyst the business calls before they make the decision rather than after, this is that seat.

• Lead Financial Analyst sits above Senior Financial Analyst and one step below Finance Manager — a real title step, not a lateral.
• You own a full country P&L: monthly close and management review through AOP, forecasting, pricing, and product flow.
• Employee-owned company, 100+ year history, and the kind of retention numbers that are rare in this market.
• Hybrid, 4 days onsite in Libertyville — a meaningful commute upgrade if you're currently driving into the city from the north or northwest suburbs.

• 6+ years of FP&A experience (strong 4–6 year candidates will be considered at a Senior Financial Analyst title, $120,000 – $125,000 + bonus)
• Experience business partnering with a sales, marketing, or business unit leadership team
• Strong modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close exposure
• Advanced Excel;
  Power BI and Power Query strongly preferred
• SAP and/or BPC preferred
• Medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, or consumer products background preferred
• CPA or a Master's is a plus — neither is required
• Bachelor's degree required; sponsorship is not available for this role

Base range $120,000 – $140,000 depending on experience, plus participation in the corporate bonus plan (10% target).
