Position OverviewReporting to the Clinical Manager, the Team Lead is responsible for the direct supervision and support of assigned staff. This role oversees an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and ensures services are delivered using person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction approaches for individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
The Team Lead plays a key role in hiring, coaching, and developing clinicians while also maintaining a reduced direct service caseload.
Responsibilities- Provide effective feedback and weekly supervision to in-line employees. Assist in training new and seasoned employees to ensure quality services are provided to clients. Ensure clinicians are given opportunity for continued education to strengthen skills.
- Model evidence-based practices such as being client-centered, recovery-orientated, trauma-informed and utilizing harm reduction techniques.
- Work with assigned teams to regularly assess the appropriate level of care and engagement of the clients as well as capacity for each team member as team as whole.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary staff and family members to ensure continuity of care for clients, including psychiatry.
- Provide direct service to clients and function as Senior Clinician for their assigned team.
- Support team members seeking to support clients with case management tasks related to various entitlements.
- Hit direct service target and ensure accurate and timely documentation of services. DIRECT SERVICE TARGET = 10 units/day.
- Manage employee schedules and allocate resources accordingly to ensure employees can meet direct service requirements.
- Run an effective daily team meeting with agenda.
- Model strength-based communication and a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Assist in on-boarding and development of new employees.
- May be required to provide telephonic support to employees over weekend as ACT model is 7 days per week.
- Monitor client charts to ensure all documentation is quality and completed on time (service documents, IMCANS, Locus, etc.).
- Analyze team members and over team’s direct service requirements.
Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications- QMHP level clinician in relation field required.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years minimum of experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle with $100,000/$300,000 liability insurance.
