We are seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations supporting a growing manufacturing operation in Libertyville, IL. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility across production planning and scheduling, warehousing, inventory management, procurement/sourcing, logistics, and material flow.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing complex manufacturing supply chains and a proven track record of improving service levels, reducing costs, optimizing inventory, and driving operational excellence. This individual will play a key role in developing the supply chain infrastructure and processes needed to support the growth of a new business unit.
A strong background in production planning, capacity planning, MRP/ERP systems, warehouse operations, and continuous improvement is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end supply chain activities across planning, scheduling, warehousing, inventory, procurement/sourcing, logistics, and material flow.
- Develop and execute strategic production planning processes aligned with customer demand and business priorities.
- Develop and manage master production schedules (MPS) based on demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory levels, and operational requirements.
- Lead capacity planning, constraint-based scheduling, and line balancing to optimize manufacturing resources.
- Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and other functional teams to ensure material availability and support on-time delivery.
- Analyze demand forecasts and production requirements to identify capacity constraints, material risks, and potential supply disruptions.
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems to manage production planning, material requirements, and supply chain execution.
- Oversee warehouse operations with a focus on safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, storage optimization, and efficient material flow.
- Implement and improve inventory control strategies, including cycle counting, stock optimization, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related technologies to improve inventory visibility, tracking, accuracy, and lead times.
- Analyze warehouse and supply chain KPIs and implement initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Support and indirectly manage procurement, strategic sourcing, and inventory management activities.
- Partner with procurement teams to improve supplier performance, cost competitiveness, material margin achievement, and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and operational excellence methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs, improve service levels, and increase overall operational efficiency.
- Develop and mentor supply chain and warehouse team members while promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives supporting the continued growth and development of the business unit.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong end-to-end supply chain experience spanning planning, scheduling, inventory, warehousing, procurement/sourcing, and logistics.
- Advanced experience with production planning and scheduling, including master production scheduling, capacity planning, and line balancing.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning processes.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control technologies.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, material flow, cycle counting, and inventory optimization.
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, supplier performance, and supply chain risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex operational data and make informed, timely decisions.
- Experience developing and managing KPIs related to safety, inventory, delivery, cost, and operational performance.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing and motivating teams in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, fluctuations in demand, and unexpected supply chain challenges.
- Hands-on, proactive, and data-driven approach to problem-solving and operational leadership.
