Location:

Research & Development
Summary:
This is a rare opportunity for a proven R&D portfolio execution leader to shape the next chapter of a company with a powerful mission and a strong sense of purpose.
As the Head of the R&D Program Management Office, reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), you will architect and lead the operating system that determines how Hollister delivers innovation. You will reshape execution discipline across R&D and cross-functional partners, strengthen decision quality at every level, and establish a standard of predictability that becomes a true competitive advantage.
We are looking for a leader who has built or transformed PMOs in complex, regulated environments and who thrives at the intersection of strategy, systems thinking, and execution. Someone who brings the experience to define what "great" looks like, the conviction to uphold it, and the ability to develop world-class Program Managers, while working in a culture rooted in dignity, respect, integrity, and stewardship.
You will design the governance model, set the operating rhythm, and create a level of transparency and rigor that directly supports our mission: to make life more rewarding and dignified for the people who depend on our products. Your work will influence senior decision-making and the shape of our innovation portfolio for years to come.
This is a legacy building role. The impact you make will be felt long after individual programs are delivered, as the system you build becomes part of Hollister's operating DNA. If you are motivated by building something that lasts, by seeing teams grow under your leadership, and by leaving a recognizable imprint of execution excellence on an entire organization, this is the platform to do your best, most meaningful work.
Hollister Incorporated operates in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:

- Create and institutionalize standards, templates, metrics, and tools used across all programs.
- Recruit, develop, and coach Program Managers and Senior Program Managers to become elite execution leaders.
- Define the competencies, behaviors, and expectations for gold-standard program leadership.
- Serve as the model for calm, structured, fact-based decision-making under pressure.
- Maintain a single, authoritative view of program health, risk, dependencies, and capacity across R&D and cross-functional partners.
- Anticipate portfolio bottlenecks and surface critical trade-offs early.
- Ensure no major issue surprises leadership.
- Prepare and frame decisions for the CTO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with clear options, implications, and recommendations.
- Partner across functions to enforce integration and eliminate cross-functional drift.
- Ensure all functions operate from the same plan, same risks, same assumptions, and same truth.
- Build trust and accountability across the product development ecosystem.
- Role-model integrity, transparency, and disciplined planning.
- Drive root-cause-focused lessons learned and ensure insights feed the next generation of programs.
- Raise the execution expectations of the entire organization with support, clarity, and empathy.
- Flexible working hours to support a global enterprise.
- 3 in-office days per week required
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Must be able to sit up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
Required:
- 12+ years leading complex, multi-year, cross-functional programs in medtech, medical devices, diagnostics, aerospace, automotive, or other regulated product centric fields.
- Proven experience building or transforming a PMO or enterprise-wide execution system.
- Deep mastery of integrated program planning, risk management, dependency mapping, and stage-gate governance.
- Expertise in portfolio economics (NPV/IRR), risk systems, design control, and supplier/manufacturing value chain.
- Experience in organizational change, negotiation, and executive facilitation.
- Fluency in best-in-class tools, systems, and practices for project/program execution management, portfolio analytics, and visual performance management.
- Exceptional communication and executive influence; able to frame decisions and drive alignment at the Executive LT level.
- A track record of developing high-performing program leaders.
- Engineering or technical degree enabling fluent partnership with R&D.
- Experience with portfolio management, capacity modeling, and strategic…
