Job Description

Assures safety initiatives are being followed, identifies and resolves risks, and initiates or participates in accident investigations. Supports and investigates situations where line or equipment stoppage occurs due to a perceived or imminent safety risk.

Responsibilities
  • Complete a minimum of 2 Observation and 2 Near Miss audits per month.
  • Support the Production Control Plan by maintaining part quality per specification and be accountable for all quality 2‑hour checks on the shift (Picasso Room).
  • Monitor the process control plan by ensuring all process inputs are followed and verified to be operating within parameters.
  • Ensure responses to corrective action requests are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Ensure all NCRs identified during shift in 2‑6 hour checks are reworked during the shift.
  • Enter production and downtime accurately in the system database (Barco and JDE); verify completion of production paperwork before submission.
  • Verify raw materials are in the facility before needed and monitor the production schedule for upcoming machine or order changes.
  • Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees, lead teams, complete special projects, and motivate employees through communication and performance feedback.
  • Identify and coordinate additional training as needed while maintaining productivity, quality, morale, safety regulations, and good housekeeping.
  • Act as a representative for the supervisor in their absence.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally, participate in Shift Leader Meetings, prepare and distribute daily shift reports.
  • Execute shift handoffs daily (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Housekeeping & Staffing key issues), schedule breaks, and assist with relieving and running machines when necessary.
  • Maintain a daily communication sheet for shift changeovers for both departments, including all quality‑related issues, excessive downtime events, and machine status at the end of shift.
  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement projects and maintain all company policies including ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of Production Monitoring Systems.
  • Experience with problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Administrative managerial skills such as payroll/time & attendance reporting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Basic knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands

The employee frequently sits, talks, hears, and uses hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee regularly stands and walks; occasions may require stooping, bending, or reaching above the shoulders. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must lift up to 35 lbs.

Schedule

5:00 am – 5:15 pm, 36/48 schedule, rotating days.

Pay

Starting rate: $23.50; may vary by up to $29.00 depending on experience.
