  • Previous soldering and electronics assembly experience.

  • Ability to follow procedures consistently and complete work accurately.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, soldering equipment, and electronic testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience assembling printed circuit boards, cables, or electromechanical products.
  • Experience with through-hole or surface-mount soldering.
  • Experience using multimeters, microscopes, power supplies, or electronic test fixtures.
  • IPC soldering certification or similar electronics manufacturing training.
Position Summary

Insight Global is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician for our industrial process instrumentation and control electronics production client in Libertyville, IL. The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, soldering, inspecting, and testing electronic components and products according to established procedures, technical drawings, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on electronics assembly experience, technical knowledge of electronic components, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written procedures accurately.

This position works regular working hours, M-F.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic components, circuit boards, cables, connectors.
  • Perform soldering and desoldering of electronic components and wires.
  • Read and follow written procedures, work instructions, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Identify electronic components and verify proper placement, polarity, orientation, and connection.
  • Use hand tools, soldering equipment, microscopes, multimeters, test fixtures, and other production equipment.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for solder quality, workmanship, wiring accuracy, missing components, and other defects.
  • Perform basic electronic and functional testing according to established test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and complete approved rework or repairs.
  • Follow electrostatic discharge procedures, safety requirements, and quality-control standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Meet established production and quality expectations.
  • Report defective materials, equipment problems, and production concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
