Position Summary
The Lead Security Officer is the primary point of contact for all on‑duty Security Guards working to provide a security presence in and around the warehouse facility. This role is also the primary contact for any contract security providers engaged by the company.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily stand‑up meetings with the Security team.
- Create and post weekly schedules for the team.
- Assign patrol areas and brief officers on potential problems or suspect employees.
- Complete weekly and monthly safety checks (fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, etc.) and ensure all security systems, intrusion points, burglar alarms, and CCTV are functioning properly.
- Conduct regular security inspections and audits of camera logs, random security check logs, daily activity reports, and safety equipment inspections.
- Send daily activity reports via email.
- Assist the Supervisor in interviewing candidates for the Security Officer position.
- Train new security team members on all security protocols.
- Develop and enhance safety plans with staff; lead periodic safety drills for employees.
- Monitor staff by patrolling with them.
- Meet, escort, and observe visitors while they are in the facility.
- Monitor facility access points during shift changes, break times, and lunch times.
- Perform daily surveillance from the Security Monitoring Center and conduct routine patrols as assigned.
- Look out for suspicious persons, vandalism, or hazards and perform random and scheduled security and pocket checks.
- Respond to alarms and distress calls.
- Report incidents and infractions to Leadership and Human Resources.
- Monitor and sign out destruction trucks; act as a witness on site for loading of trucks and at the incinerator.
- Accompany specified destruction trucks from the warehouse to the incinerator.
- Prepare Daily Activity Reports.
- Communicate with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, and Clients regarding security‑related issues, concerns, and matters.
- Conduct yourself at all times in a professional manner and follow all safety and facility rules.
- Wear issued and approved security uniforms at all times while on the job.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Hold a valid driver’s license in the state.
The role requires the use of hands to handle objects, regularly reaching with hands or arms, talking or hearing and reading instructions, standing, kneeling or stooping, lifting up to 20 pounds, and viewing items at a close range. These activities occur continuously for more than 75% of the time and occasionally for 25%–50% of the time.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4–6 years of related work experience, or 5+ years of experience with any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Bi‑lingual preferred (English and Spanish).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously, work efficiently, and meet deadlines in a frequently interrupted environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license (DL NUMBER required).
Hiring pay rate: $23.00 per hour. Eligible employees may receive safety bonuses and shift differentials where applicable.
