Part‑time; day, evening, or Saturday; on‑ and off‑campus.
- Maintain office hours of at least one hour per week for each course taught.
- Prepare course outlines and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area under supervision of the division chairperson.
- Collect student and peer evaluations and complete a self‑assessment of teaching effectiveness.
- Complete instructional assignments which may involve day, evening, early morning, weekend, outreach (such as Early College), and/or distance education classes.
- Adhere to community college principles and philosophy.
- Work effectively with a diverse student and community population in accordance with the Board of Regents Policy 4.207 III.F.1 and the college practice of the open‑admission concept.
- Conduct courses in Automotive Mechanics Technology under general supervision.
1. (a) Bachelor’s in Automotive Engineering or Industrial Education plus (3) years related work experience, and ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in areas to be taught; or
2. (b) Associate degree plus (5) years related work experience and ASE certification in areas to be taught; or
3. (c) 15 college credits plus (7) years related work experience including training and ASE certification in areas to be taught. All degrees must be earned from an accredited institution. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
Desirable Qualifications- Successful community college teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with community college or apprenticeship students.
- Work experience related to the course to be taught.
- Experience as business owner/manager or supervisor in refrigeration and air conditioning.
