Loan Support Specialist - $22.00 per hour About this position

Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Reports to:
Loan Supervisor
Pay Grade: 6 – $22.00 – $23.00 per hour
RoleGreets and directs members to appropriate staff or department. Performs a variety of support duties related to lending functions within the credit union. Answers basic loan questions from borrowers and internal staff. Maintains quality control measures with loan files and documentation.
Essential Functions- 20% Maintains loan files daily, files new loans after review for accuracy, maintains loan files pending new LOC, cancels and files paid loans, manages security for loan files. Processes and funds approved loan applications focusing on response time, quantity, and quality. Confirms funding details with approving loan counselor.
- 15% Welcomes members and visitors, directs them to appropriate departments. Assists members in scheduling appointments. Responds to phone inquiries about loan accounts, programs, payoffs, and conducts research.
- 15% Maintains records for Collateral Protection Program (CPP) and Debt Protection Program. Processes debt protection claims and research requests. Reviews and processes daily Synergy reports.
- 15% Processes incoming and outgoing titles for auto loans. Works with insurance monitoring company, agents and members to maintain/update collateral insurance. Processes vehicle total loss claims, SSI and AVS asset verification requests, and prepares old and paid loan files for annual document destruction.
- 10% Conducts daily errands to post office, DMV, banks, and other companies. Prepares and processes thank‑you letters for paid‑off loans. Handles incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
- 10% Operates copy, scanner, and fax machines. Maintains file of incoming documents, transmits materials, insures paper supply, and reports equipment problems. Provides typing and clerical support to the loan department and assists branch offices with loan file research.
- 5% Supports Mortgage Loan Processor with loan payoffs, HELOC recalculations, file maintenance, and advance vouchers for HELOC advances conducted in‑branch, via mobile app or home banking.
- 5% Verifies all information on newly opened and closed loans and enters membership information into computer terminal to start loan applications for clients waiting for a Loan Counselor.
- 5% May serve as Notary Republic. Acts as quality control review on newly funded loans by Loan Counselors. Other duties may be assigned.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control. Assumes accountability in data protection.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses
:
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or high school graduate plus 1 year office/clerical experience.

:
Demonstrates trust and diplomacy as a subject matter expert. Conducts in-depth dialogues and explanations with members, reports, and vendors. Motivates, influences, educates, and advises others.
Physical Requirements
:
Primarily sedentary work, limited physical exertion, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergencies, operate routine office equipment, work 6–8 hours on computer daily, work extended hours when required, maintain reliable attendance.

:
Indoors, climate-controlled shared area, moderate noise.
