This posting is being used to fill Human Services Professional positions that provide services to students at various schools within the Kauai District as needed and assigned by the Kauai District Office.
SalaryHuman Services Professional IV, SR-22: $5,369.00 - $6,535.00 per month
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree which included a minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours in courses such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology or other behavioral sciences. The education background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material;
and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
Applicants must have progressively responsible experience of the kind and quality described below or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Human Services Professional IV requires 2½ years of specialized experience, no supervisory experience, and 2½ years of administrative experience.
Supervisory AptitudeDemonstration of potential for supervisory duties through successful completion of assignments involving supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, such as serving as a group or team leader; successful completion of supervision training courses combined with application of supervisory skills; or favorable supervisory appraisals indicating supervisory potential.
Administrative AptitudeEvidence of necessary administrative aptitudes and abilities, including the successful completion of assignments or projects involving administrative problems, interest and ability to solve administrative problems, completion of educational or training courses in administration with application of principles, observation and evaluation of leadership and administrative capabilities, or success in trial administrative tasks.
Specialized ExperienceProgressively responsible professional work experience helping individuals and families identify problems, cope with conditions, and function effectively. Responsibilities may include identification and evaluation of client problems and needs; development of service or treatment plans, often in interdisciplinary teams; initiation and implementation of service plans directly or via provider/vendor services; monitoring of services; and evaluation of client progress with plan amendments as appropriate.
AutismSpectrum Disorders Experience Requirement
One (1) year of professional work experience providing services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This experience must have included development of intervention plans based on student behavior functions; participation in development and implementation of treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team; and consultation/training of educational professionals and families on strategies to facilitate appropriate behavior and learning.
Driver's License RequirementApplicants must possess a current, valid Driver's License.
