Retail Specialist

** The major function of this position is:
** As a Retail Specialist you are a vital leader in ensuring smooth store operations, providing exceptional customer service, and overseeing daily activities. You are responsible for key operational functions, including opening and closing, cash management, and maintaining operational readiness and team security. You will also partner with the store leadership team to drive sales and achieve business results by focusing on delivering a premium customer experience, fostering strong employee relations, and maintaining operational excellence, all while upholding Maui Jim culture and retail expectations.

** Work Schedule Requirements:*
* ** Hourly Wage**: $26 - $28, plus retail commissions.

** The primary responsibilities and duties of this position are:
** Assist  with back-of-house duties, including receiving and merchandising products. Demonstrate deep knowledge of Maui Jim’s product lines, trends, and customer needs, and communicate product offerings to meet customer preferences.
Perform other work-related tasks as requested or  required . High School Diploma  required ; 2 years of college education preferred.  Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership experience experience in a retail or similar client-facing environment with  closing and opening responsibilities
* * Minimum of one year of experience in sales and merchandising (preferably retail goods).
* Experience in the eyewear industry is a plus, though not required    
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Positive, energetic, and sales-focused attitude with the ability to motivate and engage others.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to efficiently and professionally manage customer inquiries and resolve concerns.
* Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
* Creative, adaptable, and results-oriented mindset.
* Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.

* Proficiency with POS systems and data entry, with a typing speed of 20-30 words per minute.

* Physical Requirements:

* * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to a full work shift. Includes using ladders and stairs as part of daily operations
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds to manage inventory, stock shelves, and set up displays.
* Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to reach merchandise, organize stock, and maintain store cleanliness.
* Ability to reach above shoulders and below the knees to access merchandise and stock.
* Sufficient visual acuity to operate POS systems, assess product quality, and ensure accurate transactions.
* Sufficient manual dexterity to handle merchandise, operate POS systems, and perform other tasks requiring fine motor skills.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and staff, both verbally and in writing.
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required and fill scheduling gaps required for the business needs.
* Reliable transportation to travel between assigned stores.
