School Security Attendant Positions
We are recruiting School Security Attendant positions at the specified location. The authorized level is School Security Attendant III; applications are being accepted down to School Security Attendant I if necessary.
Salary Range- School Security Attendant I (SR-07): $2,784.88 per month
- School Security Attendant II (SR-09): $2,899.72 per month
- School Security Attendant III (SR-11): $3,137.22 per month
- Perform campus supervision by patrolling the school grounds during class, lunch, and before/after school hours.
- Observe and report unusual student behavior.
- Discuss issues with students and encourage them to seek assistance or counseling.
- Ensure safe and orderly movement of pedestrians and vehicular traffic; supervise or monitor the JPO program as needed.
- Enforce school rules (prohibit smoking, gambling, fighting, vandalism, etc.).
- Inspect playground, bathrooms, cafeteria, and other facilities to identify safety and security hazards.
- Direct unauthorized persons and drivers off school premises and report concerns to administrators.
- Assist administration during special student activities such as assemblies, pep rallies, athletic events, and dances.
- Instruct loitering students to proceed to their destination.
- Assist teaching staff in handling overt disturbances.
- Inform administrators of critical situations that may require police, fire, or outside assistance.
- Activate alarm as necessary.
Applicants must possess the ability to read, write, and understand oral and written English, follow oral and written instructions, and perform simple arithmetic.
Experience Requirements- General experience: 6 months for Level I, 1 year for Level II, 2 years for Level III.
- Specialized experience: experience protecting property and people against hazards such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; knowledge of basic protective systems.
- High school diploma may substitute for six months of general experience.
- One year or more in law enforcement, security, or honorable military discharge may substitute for six months of general experience and one year of specialized experience.
- Associate degree or higher may substitute for six months of general experience and one year of specialized experience.
All candidates must be registered as a Guard with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detective and Guards in accordance with Act 208, Session Laws of Hawaii 2010.
