Pay Rate: $28.86 per hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58.

Job Schedule
  • Mon: 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
  • Sat: 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Sun: 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (federal, state, or county level).
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Law enforcement officer license.
  • 22+ years of age.
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required
  • Certified state law enforcement recruit training.
  • Certified county law enforcement recruit training.
  • Federal law enforcement training.
  • Programs approved by the director.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Ability to supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on matters related to security disputes, complaints, and misconduct.
Other Attributes That Would Enhance Hiring Consideration
  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders that would interfere with performance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and problem‑solving manner.
  • Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
  • Maintain maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
  • Take orders, follow instructions, and assume responsibility for actions.
  • Remain alert, attentive, and conduct professional actions, recognizing and taking corrective actions to various situations.
  • Exhibit strong moral character and high standards of truthfulness.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Demonstrate courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
  • May be required to attend court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA; contractor shall provide replacement staffing.
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for assigned post.
  • In good physical health and capable of moderate or arduous exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling, climbing stairs, running, and self‑defence.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. for a designated distance.
  • Assist in safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or supporting persons with limited mobility.
  • Subject to random drug screening.
  • Exercise physical force, if required, in official duties.
  • Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and e.
  • Well‑groomed and neat appearance as official representatives of the state.
  • Pass and complete a one‑time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12‑panel drug test and future random testing.
  • Correctable vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
  • Normal conversational hearing; hearing aid may be used.
What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities appropriate to an airport government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations; communicate with site contacts and public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout terminals, roadways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activity.
  • Monitor access points, restricted areas, and credential‑controlled locations; assist with entry control procedures and report irregularities, hazards, or policy violations.
