Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Lihue, Hawaii.

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support, using diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Complete OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix.
• Complete instructor-led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix.
• Assist and instruct other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
• Coach/mentor other level technicians and advise shop management on shop repairs.
• Access and utilize internal and external maintenance documents.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint and assigns tasks accordingly.
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Perform facility maintenance duties and other support duties as required to support operations.
• Demonstrate ability to access and use diagnostic computers/software; road testing as necessary.

• Schedule:
  
  Monday – Friday; weekends OFF
• Hours:
  
  First Shift 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
• Hourly Pay: $41.53 per hour
• Sign on Bonus: $2500
• Tool Box Incentive: $300 yearly allowance
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus:
  Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
• Annual merit pay increases and on-the-job paid training

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification; post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
• Diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Advanced skilled repairs including major engine work, diesel aftertreatment or automotive fuel injection repairs
• Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• Other location-specific certifications as required

• Ability to perform all T3 tasks
• Demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required
• ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic preferred
• Operate shop computers and diagnostic test equipment proficiently
• Minimum tool requirements
• Road test vehicles as necessary
• Ability to coach/mentor/influence others

• This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee you must:
• Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug/alcohol verification from the last 3 years
