Description

Lead the Crew. Build What Matters.

You're more than a carpenter.

You're the one others look to when the work gets complicated, the schedule gets tight, and the standard can't slip.

At Alpha Inc., we're looking for a Carpenter Lead who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front, and take pride in building projects that strengthen Hawai?i for generations. You'll spend your days in the field—not behind a desk—guiding crews, solving problems, mentoring the next generation of tradespeople, and ensuring every project is built safely, efficiently, and with exceptional craftsmanship.

If you believe leadership is earned with actions—not titles—you'll fit right in.

Who We Are

Alpha Inc. is one of Hawai?i's premier construction companies, delivering civil construction, concrete, drilling, renewable energy, and infrastructure solutions across the islands.

Our success isn't built solely on concrete and steel—it's built on people who live our Core Values every day:

Lead with Heart

We treat people with respect, humility, and integrity.

Strength in Unity

Great projects are built by great teams.

Own it. Improve it. Finish strong.

We're not looking for someone to simply supervise a crew.

We're looking for someone who inspires one.

What You'll Do

As a Carpenter Lead, you'll serve as the field leader for a crew of carpenters and laborers while remaining a hands-on contributor throughout the workday.

You'll help transform project plans into reality by leading with skill, accountability, and a commitment to excellence.

Lead From the Front
  • Direct and work alongside crews performing framing, concrete formwork, finish carpentry, and structural carpentry.
  • Set the pace through hands-on leadership and strong work ethic.
  • Assign daily work activities under the direction of the Carpenter Foreman or Superintendent.
Deliver Quality Work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Perform measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, and installation of construction materials.
  • Ensure completed work meets project specifications and Alpha's quality standards.
Champion Safety
  • Promote a culture where every employee goes home safely.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Alpha safety standards.
  • Identify hazards early and address them proactively.
Build Great Teams
  • Mentor apprentice carpenters and newer team members.
  • Share your knowledge and help develop future leaders.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
Keep Projects Moving
  • Coordinate daily activities with other trades.
  • Track labor hours, production, and material usage.
  • Communicate field updates, challenges, and safety concerns to the Carpenter Foreman.
You're Probably a Great Fit If You...
  • Naturally lead by example.
  • Take ownership without needing constant direction.
  • Hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Care about doing the job right—not just getting it done.
  • Stay calm under pressure.
  • Earn the respect of your crew through consistency and integrity.
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial or concrete carpentry experience.
  • Strong experience with framing, concrete formwork, and finish carpentry.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
  • Previous experience serving as a Crew Lead or demonstrating leadership responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience using construction technology or mobile reporting tools.
What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you'll have:

  • Earned the trust and respect of your crew.
  • Helped deliver projects safely, on schedule, and with exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Developed newer carpenters into stronger contributors.
  • Improved productivity while maintaining Alpha's quality standards.
  • Become someone the Foreman relies on every day.
Why Alpha?

Because great tradespeople deserve more than just another construction job.

You'll join a company that invests in its people, values craftsmanship, promotes from within, and builds projects that make a lasting impact…
