Summary Of Duties

Specialist I E Ala Hou

Initiates all necessary forms required by the program/CFS to open case. Contacts participants frequently for follow ups, and appointments schedule. Establishes participant rapport and trust and provides empathetic encouragement and support to participants. Help in developing a plan to energize participants to take action. In collaboration with participant, worker helps encourage the development of goals, administers screens, assist in treatment plans, documents encounter, and may assist in any additional documentation required by program contract.

Helps to operate groups and meet with participants individually. Maintains a list of collaborative contacts and community services pertinent to participant's needs, including in-house staff and programs. Provides information and referral services to community resources and agencies. Provides participant transportation. Attends case conference with other disciplines or team members. Always maintains participant confidentiality. Participates in program/Agency staff meetings, meets with supervisor(s) on a regular basis, and attends training and other staff development activities, especially those required by programs contract.

Education

And Training Requirements
  • Four-Year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency - general major. Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.
  • Other:
    Four years related experience maybe substituted for bachelor's degree.
Experience
  • Over two years, up to and including four years.
Special Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
  • Skills in collaborating with other disciplines and agency personnel; demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Organized with good time management skills. Ability to complete extensive and detailed paperwork requirements.
  • Experience in working with children and families
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with participants.
  • Willingness to reflective practice.
  • Valid driver's license, current no-fault coverage and DAILY access to an insured vehicle.

Position Requirements
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation, and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
