Mauna Loa Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Robinson R-44 pilot to join our fast-growing team. This position requires professionalism, sound decision-making, and a strong commitment to safe, consistent tour operations.
Minimum Qualifications
FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate with Instrument Rating Commercial Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate Successful completion of the Robinson Safety Course Successful completion of an in-house R-44 instructor sign-off Meets FAA Part 135 minimum flight time requirements
Willingness to commit to a minimum of one year in the position
Application Requirements Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references. Applicants must also provide copies of all pilot certificates, along with current height and weight.
All candidates must be able to pass an FAA DOT drug screening with a negative result.
Training time, travel expenses, and relocation costs are not paid.
Compensation and Schedule Pay rate: $40 per tour Typical weekly hours: 24 to 36

The Kaua‘i Tour Pilot is responsible for conducting private helicopter tours in Robinson R-44 aircraft throughout the island of Kaua‘i. Flights are conducted under Part 91/136 and Part 135, as applicable, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, professionalism, and guest experience.
Pilots should expect to fly approximately 3 to 7 tours per day, depending on demand, weather, and operational needs. Operations are fast paced and require solid aeronautical decision making, situational awareness, and the ability to consistently provide a high quality experience to passengers.
Daily aircraft care is an essential part of the position. Pilots are responsible for cleaning the aircraft at the beginning and end of each operating day, as well as maintaining a clean, safe, and professional aircraft throughout the day.
