Fuel Truck Driver at a Growth-Oriented Energy Company
Responsible for delivering petroleum products to company retail sites or commercial customers while ensuring compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
Key Activities Include- Receive delivery orders, organize routes, and communicate with the dispatcher.
- Perform pre‑delivery trip checks in accordance with DOT safety specifications, inspect the vehicle and equipment, and confirm all necessary tools are available.
- Operate tank truck and trailer (or tractor‑trailer) to customer locations, connect hose, open valves, read gauges, record amounts delivered, and provide delivery tickets.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers at designated facilities following facility rules and regulations.
- Complete post‑trip inspections, determine needed repairs, and file required regulatory paperwork.
- Maintain excellent customer service, schedule loading/unloading, and answer inquiries or refer to supervisor as needed.
- Keep designated work areas and vehicle equipment clean and orderly; perform housekeeping chores.
- Adhere to safety rules and environmental procedures at loading docks, customer premises, and during traffic operations; report incidents promptly.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance such as changing bulbs, replacing discharge valves, hose ends, etc.
- Work additional duties as required.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Type A with Hazmat and TX endorsements.
- At least three years as a professional truck driver in a Type A vehicle, with at least three years driving a manual transmission.
- Experience transporting petroleum or liquids preferred.
- Clean driving abstract for the last five years.
- General mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency in routine mathematical calculations.
- Availability for overtime and adherence to DOT “Hours of Service.”
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills; ability to work under difficult conditions.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $37,000 to $41,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus.
