Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for developing students’ mathematical knowledge, skills, and problem‑solving abilities. The teacher delivers rigorous, engaging instruction that promotes logical reasoning, quantitative literacy, and real‑world application while supporting the academic, spiritual, and covenant mission of Providence.

• Develops and implements a comprehensive high school mathematics curriculum aligned with school goals and academic standards.
• Creates a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, and conducive to whole-group, small-group, and individualized learning.
• Designs lesson plans and instructional materials that promote sequential learning, critical thinking, and effective use of instructional time.
• Instructs students in high school mathematics courses, which may include Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre‑Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, or other advanced coursework as assigned.
• Encourages mathematical reasoning, problem‑solving, and the application of mathematical concepts to real‑world contexts.
• Integrates technology and instructional tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Assesses student learning using formal and informal methods; analyzes data to inform instruction and adjust strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those of students with special needs.
• Provides individual and small‑group instruction to support differentiated learning.
• Prepares students for assessments, competitions, and post‑secondary mathematical readiness as appropriate.
• Participates in ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, seminars, and continued study of best practices in mathematics education.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Full‑time position requiring 40 hours per week during the academic year (190 scheduled days).
