PositionSummary
The Automotive Technician plays a pivotal role within our automotive service team. You will learn and develop foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles under the guidance of experienced technicians. The role involves hands‑on learning across automotive systems, performing routine inspections, contributing to vehicle assessments, assisting in repair procedures, and interacting with customers to explain repair procedures and provide exceptional service.
Speed, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship are required in a fast‑paced environment.
Pay Range: $16.63 – $24.99 per hour. Compensation is flat‑rate, rewarding each completed task with a predetermined amount. Rates reflect average productivity by region.
Responsibilities- Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services
- Inspect steering, suspension, and brake systems
- Install batteries and check electrical systems
- Perform tire maintenance and install parts
- Road test vehicles
- Obtain or maintain at least one A.S.E. certification (A1–A8) within the first two years; company pays test fees and bonuses for pass results
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks
- Valid automobile driver’s license at all times and ability to drive company and customer vehicles
- Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance and tire repair services, including oil changes and basic inspections
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Two years of automotive repair experience
- Completion of a vocational‑technical school program in a related field or equivalent third‑party certifications or assessments
- A.S.E. certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications
