Join a hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery service in Lima, Ohio, providing 24-hour call coverage for gaps in the existing schedule. This opportunity is for adult patients and includes a broad range of cardiac surgical procedures. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 20 operating rooms and support from three PAs.

- Broad cardiac surgical case mix
- Ongoing need for 10–14 days of call coverage per month
Patient Population:
Adult
Average Case Volume:
Approximately 1 case per day
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide Cardiothoracic Surgery call coverage
- Round on hospitalized patients
- Evaluate surgical patients
- Perform required cardiac surgical procedures
- Manage postoperative patients
- Respond to urgent surgical needs
- Coordinate care with PAs and hospital staff
- Document patient care in EPIC
The provider must be proficient in all required procedures, including:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Arterial revascularization using internal mammary arteries
- Arterial revascularization using radial artery
- Arterial revascularization using gastroepiploic artery
- Redo coronary revascularization
- Redo coronary revascularization with or without heart valve surgery
- Pericardial window
- Heart valve repair and replacement
- Mitral valve repair
Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
Operating Rooms: 20
Support Staff: 3 PAs
EMR System: EPIC
EPIC experience preferred.
Requirements- Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgery – Required
- Active Ohio Medical License – Required
- Fellowship Training – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- Must be available for the listed September 11–16 coverage dates
- Must be able to perform all required procedures listed above – Required
- EPIC experience – Preferred
