Locum Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for locum coverage supporting OR, clinic, and inpatient rounding responsibilities. The provider will assist with complex cardiothoracic, vascular, and open-heart surgical procedures in a Level II trauma center environment.

Work across Operating Room, inpatient rounds, and clinic settings. Assist in open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. Perform chest tube insertions and thoracentesis – REQUIRED. Responsibilities include pre-op exams, suture removal, rounding, ordering tests, and prescribing medications. Practice with physician supervision available in OR and clinic. Epic EMR system utilized. Work with adult patient population. Autonomous practice allowed within scope.

NCCPA Certification – REQUIRED. Active Ohio PA license or willingness to obtain – REQUIRED. BLS and ACLS certifications – REQUIRED. Cardiothoracic surgery OR experience – REQUIRED. Must have experience with open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days) – REQUIRED t be available for the specific coverage dates – REQUIRED.

Coverage Dates:
July 18–25 and December 25 – REQUIRED availability.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Evening and weekend call required. Call ratio:
Approximately 7–10 days per month. Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days.
