Position Overview:

Perry Local Schools is seeking a nurturing, student-centered 2nd Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will focus on building strong foundational skills in literacy and mathematics while creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies
• Implement strong foundational literacy practices, including phonics, fluency, and comprehension
• Use student data to guide instruction and intervention
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues in team-based structures (TBTs)
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Support building and district continuous improvement efforts

• Valid Ohio teaching license for Elementary Education (K–5 or appropriate grade band)
• Strong understanding of early elementary literacy and numeracy development
• Commitment to collaboration, growth, and student-centered learning
• Ability to build strong relationships with young learners and families

• Experience with structured literacy and evidence-based reading instruction
• Familiarity with data-driven instruction and intervention supports
• Experience integrating technology into instruction
