OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English language and literature, with the ability to inspire students to develop their writing and critical thinking skills. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with educational standards and fosters student engagement.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including traditional instruction, collaborative learning, and technology‑enhanced learning.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate diverse literary works and writing styles, including creative writing and journalism.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, classroom assessments, and individualized feedback.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, promoting literacy education and effective study habits.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational trends and best practices in teaching English.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design and curriculum development initiatives.
- Proven experience in teaching English or related subjects at the secondary or higher education level.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes and instructional design principles.
- Strong understanding of various writing styles, including AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and copy editing.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education needs.
- Background in mentoring students or tutoring in English language skills is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools that enhance classroom instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and research skills are essential for success in this role.
- Experience in education administration or public school settings is a plus.
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
