Summary of Duties
The Director of Testing & Accommodative Services provides strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of student accessibility services and testing operations, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations related to accommodations, and a student-centered learning environment. The Director collaborates with faculty, staff, and external partners to support student success through the implementation of accommodations, administration of secure testing services, and advancement of inclusive institutional practices.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for Accessibility Services and Testing Center operations.
- Ensure testing integrity, security, and compliance with institutional, state, federal, and external testing agency standards and protocols.
- Review disability documentation and determine reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation act of 1973, and institutional policy.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic departments to ensure timely implementation of approved accommodations and accessible instructional practices.
- Coordinate testing and accommodative support for online, hybrid, remote, and off-site learning environments as needed.
- Maintain confidential student records, accommodation databases, testing documentation, and related reporting systems.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports related to testing activity, accommodations, student utilization, and operational effectiveness.
- Assess departmental processes, services, and outcomes to support continuous improvement and student success initiatives.
- Supervise hiring, training, scheduling, development, and evaluation of Testing Center and Accessibility Services staff.
- Maintain current knowledge of accessibility laws, emerging best practices, assistive technologies, and testing standards in higher education.
- Collaborate with Information Technology and campus partners to maintain accessible testing software, assistive technology, and secure testing systems.
- Support faculty and staff development related to accessibility, accommodations, universal design, and inclusive learning practices.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Student Success in the implementation and oversight of case management and student advocacy programming including case management services to students as needed.
- Serve as an active member of institutional meetings and within Shared Governance as appropriate.
- Promote a respectful and student-centered environment that values accessibility for all learners.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.
Applicants must have or be able to obtain certification as an ACT Center, a Pearson VUE Center, and COMPASS Ability to Benefit (ATB) Administrator.
Education & CertificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience coordinating services for individuals with disabilities.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Social Work, Educational Leadership or related field.
