Position: Assistant Prison Program Coordinator - Allen Correctional (Part-Time)

Assistant Prison Program Coordinator – Allen Correctional (Part-Time) Position Summary

The Assistant Prison Program Coordinator will assist the Coordinator of Educational Programs in maintaining a smooth and efficient operation of the off‑site programs. Responsibilities include working with onsite correctional educational coordinators, managing waiting lists and student registrations, administering placement testing, supervising computer labs, tutoring students, and educating DRC staff about Sinclair Community College’s certificate and degree programs.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Represent Sinclair Community College and liaise between the Coordinator’s office and the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
  • Supervise on‑site activities for certificate program operation and ensure compliance with DRC and SCC policies.
  • Provide support services for student success: waiting list, orientation, placement testing, registration, tutoring, textbooks, and library resources.
  • Assist the Coordinator in identifying credential programs, scheduling courses, and securing instructional space.
  • Orient full‑time and part‑time faculty, assist staff in obtaining security clearances and instructional space, and manage instructional material copying.
  • Supervise operation and use of on‑site computer labs and provide technical assistance.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of correctional or related work experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, writing, interpersonal, and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Experience working with the public or in the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituents including faculty, administrators, inmates, and staff.
  • Customer‑service oriented with ethical awareness of diversity and cultures.
  • Maturity, good judgment, and high ethical standards.
  • Consistent attendance and accountability to the program.
  • Willingness to assist at other correctional facility sites as needed.
  • Ability to pass a DRC background check.
Compensation

The pay for this position is $19.83 per hour. Daytime, evening, and weekend hours are available.
