The Student Services Coordinator, Borra Center (Coordinator) serves as a collaborative, and innovative leader within the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. The Coordinator collaborates with staff in Enrollment Management & Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and the Borra Center in the coordination and delivery of various services to students at the Borra Center for Health Sciences. The Coordinator will be responsible for providing student-centered services including financial aid, accommodated testing services, and other student services.

Additionally, the Coordinator will collaborate with staff in the Office of Financial Aid in implementing proactive strategies to connect students with financial aid solutions which contribute to the College’s goals related to student enrollment, persistence, retention, and completion.

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Financial Aid Responsibilities (65%)
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a financial aid outreach plan that includes state and federal financial aid, scholarships, and financial literacy.
  • Coordinate engaging financial aid awareness events on and off campus, including FAFSA nights for area high schools, in-person SDE and Capstone classes for various subjects and creating videos.
  • Provide customer service and financial aid counseling to students, parents, and prospective students on topics such as FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, loans (private/federal), Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and other aid programs, including veteran and military-connected benefits.
  • Prepare and send communications, including award letters, missing information requests, and SAP notifications as necessary
  • Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and in‑person with professionalism and in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, presentations, and outreach activities using tools like Calendly and institutional systems.
  • Travel to high schools and community events for Financial Aid Nights and other outreach programs; deliver presentations to varying audiences regarding the financial aid process.
  • Facilitate workshops and one‑on‑one support sessions for FAFSA completion and other aid‑related topics.
  • Maintain accurate student records within the financial aid management system.
  • Stay current with Federal and State financial aid regulations through training and self‑directed learning.
  • Interpret and communicate complex information about financial aid, waivers, and scholarships in easy‑to‑understand language to prospective college students and their families.
Accommodated Testing Responsibilities (25%)
  • Coordinate the delivery of testing services for students receiving approved accommodations.
  • Collaborate with staff in the Main Campus Office of Testing & Accommodative Services to ensure students registered with Accommodative Services are receiving quality support and services at the Borra Center.
Student Services & Other Responsibilities (10%)
  • Collaborate with Admissions Staff on the planning and implementation of various admissions events including tours and school visits.
  • Provide coverage for admissions tours on an as‑needed basis.
  • Provide admissions information to prospective students on a walk‑in or as‑needed basis.
  • Track the utilization of services provided at the Borra Center for the purposes of administrative unit effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Provide Web Check background check services to students at the Borra Center.
  • Serve as an active member of institutional meetings and within Shared Governance as appropriate.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
