The Allen County Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Teacher for the Juvenile Detention Center's Education Program. The teaching position includes middle and high school students.

Alternative Learning Environment

• The Board has identified the following qualifications as having particular importance for the position of Teacher for the Alternative Program.
  • Ohio Teaching License with an Intervention Specialist License Preferred
  • If applying with a Non-Intervention Specialist License, an emphasis in science preferred
  • Experience with students who demonstrate significant cognitive and/or emotional disabilities
  • Responsibility and supervision of paraprofessional aide(s)
  • Collaborate with Therapists
  • Ability to identify individual need of each student and provide educational programming for each
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Ohio's Extended Standards
  • Strong work ethic
