Child Care Coordinator

The Child Care Coordinator supports the operational, educational, and administrative functions of the child care center to ensure high-quality early childhood programming and compliance with licensing requirements. This role coordinates curriculum implementation, assists with enrollment and record management, and supports staff and family engagement initiatives. The Coordinator works closely with center leadership and classroom staff to maintain safe and effective operations and may provide classroom coverage when staffing needs arise to ensure appropriate supervision of children.

• Coordinate daily operational and administrative activities of the child care center to support efficient program delivery and compliance with licensing requirements.
• Maintain required records for children including enrollment documentation, health records, and other regulatory documentation.
• Assist with enrollment processes including greeting families, coordinating tours, managing waitlists, and supporting communication with parents.
• Support curriculum planning and implementation by coordinating educational activities, distributing curriculum resources, and assisting staff with program planning.
• Provide guidance and support to classroom staff to ensure developmentally appropriate programming and adherence to center policies and procedures.
• Assist with staff coordination and daily routines to ensure appropriate classroom coverage and compliance with required staff-to-child ratios.
• Serve as a liaison with families by responding to parent inquiries, assisting with communication, and supporting family engagement activities.
• Support administrative functions including answering phones, preparing correspondence, maintaining records, and coordinating childcare fee processing in accordance with center policies.
• Assist with regulatory compliance by supporting health and safety checks, documentation reviews, and participation in drills or other compliance-related activities.
• Provide classroom support and serve as backup in classrooms when staffing coverage is needed to maintain safe supervision and continuity of care.
• Performs functions consistent with infection control requirements and guidelines regarding exclusion for ill/symptomatic children, cleaning and disinfecting practices and insures compliance within the facility.
• Assists scheduling training and development opportunities for associates regarding prevention of spread of infection, proper food handling, appropriate and required disinfecting practices, child related education required for all associates and additional required training as assigned by the regulatory agencies.

First Aid and CPR certification in adult and pediatrics (required within state specific timeline) Serve Safe Food Handler certification from the Department of Health (preferred) Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate (preferred)

High school diploma or GED (required) Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (preferred).

3 years of experience in early childhood education or licensed child care setting (preferred) Successfully meets all state requirements and successfully completes all required background screenings for child care associates.
