Chief Engineer – General Cargo Fleet | Internet

Wagenborg Crew Management is seeking for a Chief Engineer to join our Shipping Fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations of our General Cargo vessels. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering team onboard General Cargo vessels

• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations

• Oversee maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment

• Monitor and optimize fuel consumption and engine performance

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

• Valid applicable Certificate of Competence (STCW III/2 or III/3)

• Valid STCW Training Certificates

• Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent English communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving abilities

• Strong leadership skills

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards

• Experience with general cargo trade

• Experience with mixed Nationality crew

• Preferred experience as a Single Engineer
