Position:
Chemical Engineering Co-op Primary Location: Cairo, OH Schedule: Full time hourly Reports To: Plant Manager
Compensation: $22 - $29 per hour. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.

This position is directly involved in assisting the engineering team at the Cairo plant with their daily activities. The primary focus of the co-op will be plant reliability with an emphasis on safety, process improvements, documentation, and small project management. The Co-op will also be responsible to provide laboratory coverage as needed, in the lab technician's absence.
Responsibilities- Understanding, upholding, demonstrating and improving the Chemtrade safety culture
- Collection of plant process data and prepares plant material balances.
- Provides technical information to the engineering, operations and maintenance functions as requested.
- Assisting in initiating plant investigations related to proposed changes in the plant process.
- Assisting the process engineer with quarterly flow RATAs done in-house
- Inputting and re-organizing information with regards to Infor and the plant equipment files

- Quality Control Lab coverage
- Establishing and sustaining process safety information
- Assisting with maintenance and CAPEX projects
- Assisting with ECP generation and revision
- Assisting with operation procedure generation and revision
- Assisting with JSA generation and revision
- Line labeling and equipment tagging
- Any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose a minimum risk
- Education:
2nd/ 3rd Year Chemical Engineering Student - Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0

Must be available to complete 2 rotations - Technical
Skills:
Proficient in all areas of engineering, computers, and engineering programs as expected from a chemical engineering student. Good organization and communication skills.
