In the context of investment management mandate for climate finance debt funds, respons
Ability is expanding its climate financing activities in the areas of financial institution lending. Eager to drive market uptake for renewable energy generation, energy efficiency and electric mobility in Emerging Markets, respons
Ability works closely with local financial institutions to build their capacities so that they can drive this transition from within. Investments are solely initiated to emerging and developing countries, with the focus on the Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) region.

Your Main Tasks- Build and manage relationships with financial institutions (FIs) across the LAC region, working closely with other regional rA teams.
- Lead the due diligence process from end‑to‑end, including origination, assessment (including on‑site due diligence), execution and periodic monitoring of investments in financial institutions across the LAC region.
- In parallel to the credit due diligence, lead the Green Lending Strategy development for the FI. This involves assessing market potential for renewable energy, energy efficiency and adaptation lending, including evaluation of commercial & regulatory drivers supporting an FI’s green lending potential.
- Convince FIs to commit to developing green lending capacities in line with the market potential identified, working closely with rA’s in‑house advisory and technical assistance teams.
- Lead the preparation of Investment Proposals for submission to relevant committees.
- Lead the coordination with various internal respons
Ability teams involved in a transaction, from due diligence through to disbursement and ongoing monitoring. - Conduct regular financial monitoring of outstanding transactions and relevant sector developments, staying abreast of key developments across the LAC region.
- Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a closely related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of six years of professional experience within an investment or consulting firm focused on the financial sector.
- Proven expertise in credit analysis for financial institutions, including the ability to prepare and manage large datasets and conduct comprehensive qualitative assessments.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated capability to establish effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Dependable, proactive, and collaborative mindset able to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
- Superior oral and written communication in English and Spanish, accompanied by proficiency in presentation and quantitative analysis tools. Proficiency in Portuguese would be a plus.
- Genuine interest in impact investing, particularly Climate Finance, coupled with an informed perspective regarding the distinct challenges and opportunities present in emerging markets.
