Director of Finance
Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center of Lima/Allen County – Lima, OH.
Pay range: $58,000-$65,000 per year.
Full‑time, exempt, at‑will.
Department:
Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center.
Supervisor: CEO.
- Lead finance and policy functions, serving as key manager for monitoring the fiscal position.
- Administer all fiscal activities: budget coordination, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and ongoing monitoring of results.
- Act as fiscal manager for the Civic Center Foundation and Parking Garage Management Contract.
- Fiscal Processing Duties (50%) – process invoices, manage purchase orders, remit payments, initiate departmental transfers, prepare special reports, maintain accounting records, assist with insurance and audit requirements.
- Fiscal Administrative Duties (20%) – monitor financial condition, conduct internal audits, ensure accounting controls, comply with legal requirements, maintain professional knowledge, publish required financial reports.
- Coordinate and manage budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting: annual budget, quarterly meetings, budget narrative for commissioner’s submittal.
- Manage project‑related fiscal tasks: oversee projects related to processing operations and budget operations.
- Backup administrative staff and support fund development, volunteer and community relations.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of finance and accounting experience. - Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, both cash and accrual accounting.
- Experience with cost accounting, unit economics, governmental/non‑profit accounting systems, and software such as Quick Books and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in Excel and other financial software.
- Strong analytical, judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and work long hours when necessary.
