About the RoleThe ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about their community and providing assistance to those in need, able to effectively solve problems, remain professional while being empathetic to customers’ needs, and consistently meet all expectations relating to the role.
- Processes interactive interviews with clients to re‑determine ongoing eligibility for OWF, Medicaid, and public assistance Food Stamps. Responsible for OWF, Medicaid and Food Stamps caseload (maintained in OBWP system), telephone calls, and client interviews. Refers clients to other Agency units when appropriate (Social Services, STEPS, etc.).
- Interviews clients to re‑determine eligibility for Medicaid and Food Stamps. Conducts interactive interviews.
- Maintains case data through OBWP and other applicable systems.
- Completes all forms necessary for maintaining caseload.
- Completes necessary paperwork for computer matches, desk review, etc.
- Completes referral forms for over payments and under issuances.
- Provides quality customer service and updates cases as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Starting pay is $21.24 per hour
- Up to $0.75 per hour increase after passing probation
- Additional $0.50 per hour with Associate degree.
- Additional $1.00 per hour with Bachelor’s degree.
- Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week) 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

- Must have a passion for helping others
- One course or six‑month experience in behavioral science, social science, or customer service techniques; one course or six‑month experience in business mathematics; one course or six‑month experience in business English; one course or six‑month experience in interviewing techniques; and one course or six‑month experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
- Must have the ability to problem‑solve and not be intimidated by challenges
