Communications Operator
The City of Lima is accepting applications and testing for the position of Communications Operator. Candidates must submit an application and take examination.

Rate of Pay: $28.02 per hour
Vouchers:
Residents of Allen County, OH may receive a voucher to cover the cost of the entry‑level exam. Candidates must show proof of residency.

Testing Requirements- Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test
- Complete the Computer Skills Test and Typing Test (accessed through your candidate account)
Under general supervision, provides dispatching for police and fire departments; performs communications functions; prepares and maintains department records; performs computer data entry functions; establishes and maintains external relationships; maintains personal and professional competence and awareness.
Qualifications- Completion of high school education or equivalent
- Post‑secondary coursework in related field
- One (1) year of work experience involving public contact
- Must be able to exercise independent judgement
- Type a minimum of 35–40 wpm
- Must pass Civil Service Examination for this position
- L.E.A.D.S. Certification (Must obtain within 12 months after appointment)
