The Community Paramedic PositionSupports a growing community health program focused on post‑discharge patient support and connecting patients with appropriate community resources.
- Schedule is day shift Monday through Friday.
- Certified in Community Paramedicine.
- Candidates must have at least 3‑5 years of medical experience.
Ground Paramedic provides direct patient care and transportation when responding to both emergent and non‑emergent calls for service. Operates within all federal, state, and local regulations and organization policies, procedures, and EMS protocols.
Essential Job Functions- Respond to calls, perform ALS patient assessment and triage.
- Perform indicated Advanced Life Support procedures per EMS Protocols under the direction of the Medical Control Physician.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for use at the beginning and end of shift.
- Operate all vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Provide high level of customer service to patients, families, community providers, visitors, and employees.
- Provide accurate, precise, timely documentation as applicable to patient care.
- Work independently, problem‑solve, and resolve conflict while under considerable stress.
- Accommodate and train new staff and/or students for orientation and educational purposes; complete all documentation on behalf of students/orientees.
- Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and EMS protocols.
- Current paramedic-level certification (required)
- RSFH requires National Registry
- Valid State Driver’s License (required)
- Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 6 months of hire)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program – American Academy of Pediatrics or Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (preferred upon hire, required within 6 months of hire; not required for RSFH)
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Successful completion of a Paramedic program at the certificate or associate’s degree level (required)
1 Year of Paramedic Experience (preferred)
TrainingEmergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) – required at time of hire for RSFH; preferred upon hire and required within 1 year of hire.
