Endoscopy Technician
We are actively hiring for an Endoscopy Technician at SCA Health.
Responsibilities- Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
- Assist during endoscopy procedures by protecting patients from injury, demonstrating safe operation of equipment, and following reporting and correction procedures for unsafe situations.
- Advocate for patient safety, handle specimens according to facility policy, and adhere to standard precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Perform interventions to maintain wound and tissue perfusion, protect against infection, and safeguard patient rights, dignity, and privacy.
- Provide age‑specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice and comply with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time‑out policies.
- Assemble, prepare, and maintain sterile supplies and instruments; provide them to the endoscopist during procedures; maintain an organized sterile field.
- Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes and provide accurate, concise hand‑off reports to teammates.
- Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories in working order, troubleshoot malfunctions, and prepare equipment for decontamination.
- Ensure scopes are prepared per policies, procedures, and manufacturer instructions.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Serve as a multidisciplinary team member in patient care planning.
- Assist with post‑procedure cleaning of the procedure room and preparation for subsequent patients.
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects, the performance appraisal process, and daily safety huddles.
- Use problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
- Act as a patient advocate, maintaining privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
- Pursue professional growth and maintain required competencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a GI Tech preferred.
- Successful completion of a BCLS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.
USD $19.00 per hour (bottom range) to USD $23.00 per hour (upper range).
