Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, allied health, healthcare administration or related fields.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Successful completion of in-house training.

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

2+ years of experience in risk management or a related role.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties
  • Embraces an active and healthy lifestyle including smoke-free living, stress reduction, exercise, work/life balance and healthy dietary choices.
  • Participates in and promotes health and wellness activities within the organization.
  • Supports a patient-centered healthcare home where the patient-provider relationship is encouraged, with an emphasis on coordination of care and the establishment of a long-term healing relationship.
  • Promotes effective and appropriate use of integrated health services at HPWO as part of a “Patient Centered Medical Home” (PCMH) model of care.
  • Conducts detailed risk assessments.
  • Compiles, audits, and analyzes data and information about the organization, its practices, and legal obligations.
  • Reviews risk management policies and procedures.
  • Records and tracks all incidents within Health Partners’ organization.
  • Evaluates risk levels and implications and reports findings.
  • Recommends policies, process improvement activities, and plans to reduce and control risks and liabilities.
  • Prepares and presents reports and proposals related to Risk Management.
  • Manages risk management activities related to patient care, patient safety, and employee health.
  • Attends Risk Management meetings.
  • Develops quarterly risk management reports for reporting to the Quality Improvement Committee, Risk Management Committee, Board of Directors, and Administrative Team.
  • Assists Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Financial Officer with liability insurance, malpractice and/or FTCA Claims.
  • Assists Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Financial Officer with any items needed to complete the FTCA deeming application.
  • Completes all other duties as necessary within the scope of this position as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer.
