The OpportunityI’m partnering with a highly respected mechanical contractor in the Lima, Ohio area to identify a Senior Mechanical Project Manager with strong experience delivering mechanical piping, plumbing, and HVAC/sheet metal work. You’ll lead large, high-profile projects typically $15M+ across commercial, institutional, data center, light industrial, and public sectors throughout Ohio. - Oversee and manage all phases of assigned projects from award through closeout.
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents.
- Partner with project schedulers to build and maintain executable schedules and hit milestone dates.
- Estimate, price, and negotiate change orders; maintain complete and accurate change-order logs.
- Own project financial budgets, cost-to-complete, forecasting, and approval of project expenses.
- Administer project contracts and subcontracts; ensure compliance with scope, terms, and documentation requirements.
- Oversee subcontract and equipment buyout, procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain proactive communication with owners and stakeholders to align goals, expectations, and risk items.
- Ensure accurate project records and manage close-out documentation.
- Lead punch-list planning and inspections with the superintendent and owner’s representative; issue punch lists and drive timely completion.
- Build relationships with past clients to support repeat business and referrals.
- 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering commercial, institutional, or government work (typically $10M+ budgets).
- Proven ability to lead project teams with strong command of project controls, documentation, and financial management.
- Track record of building schedules, protecting milestones, and managing budget.
- Experience estimating, negotiating, and documenting change orders.
- Strong communication and organization skills; able to run productive cross-functional meetings and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated career stability and a history of successful project delivery.
