Assistant Manager

Role Description

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lima, OH, supporting the day-to-day operations of a Take 5 Oil Change location. This role assists the Store Manager with overseeing shop performance, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. The Assistant Manager leads by example on the service line, helping technicians deliver fast, accurate oil changes and related services while ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety standards.

This position is responsible for coaching and developing team members, scheduling staff, and supporting hiring and training efforts. The Assistant Manager also engages directly with guests, resolving concerns, promoting recommended services, and helping to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals.

• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of guests and colleagues.
• Basic automotive service knowledge or a willingness to learn vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes and filter replacement.
• Organizational and time management skills to handle scheduling, inventory support, and daily operational tasks.
• Comfort with following standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
• Previous experience in retail, service, or hospitality management or supervision is preferred.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform hands-on tasks in a shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation.
