Summary:
Broad FunctionThe Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading the project controls function for a business or region. This position is focused on improving project and contract performance for the company by driving compliance with standardized policies and best practices. The Project Controls Manager manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing management and direction to the project controls team.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions- Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business.
- Oversee and direct activities of project controls team.
- Train, coach, and develop employees to improve quality, performance, and productivity.
- Evaluate health status of projects for region and maintain effective communication with regional leadership.
- Ensure that project controls systems and processes are implemented and continue to deliver accurate project status.
- Drive effective execution of project control functions on various capital projects.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationship with regional and sales leadership.
- Review and audit cost, progress, and schedule reports that are prepared in regards to project controls.
- Manage, review, and advise on management system and asset tracking. Coordinate with customer planners and schedulers, maintain job files, review billing, administer KPI program, coordinate project reporting, track cost-to-date and cost-to-complete metrics for all POs, and assist in project closeout.
- Collaborate with Brock and Customer Project Management teams to promote understanding and compliance with established protocols for the project.
- Responsible for all aspects of the integrity of project control, costing, and reporting to ensure data visibility for the business.
- Compile and support the baseline schedule. This includes tracking the schedule and completing Forensic Assessment for required diagnosis of schedule and cost.
- Forecast work including current commitments, estimated growth allowances, and scheduled work plans.
- Execute plan, actual and forecast of the project progress and cost-tracking.
- Work with Project Manager on the change management process to incorporate changes into the contract.
- Incorporate estimating, cost, and schedule data of proposals for project execution analysis.
- Ensure Monthly Project Review Process along with publishing of project data reports as required.
- Audit ongoing operations and identify opportunities for efficiencies and standardization of methods to improve project health.
- Leverage project controls processes and software according to the project lifecycle management.
- Manage and control collection of field data and enforce project control policies and productivity for the worksite.
- Handle escalated issues, working with site and project leadership.
- Utilize planning and scheduling tools to drive productivity improvements.
- Capture all site scheduling activities to ensure all craft resources are fully utilized and productivity is tracked.

Working Conditions- Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations.
- Working indoors in an office environment.
- Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
- Travel as required.
- Proven leadership and client relationship skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- A solid understanding of scheduling software.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and SAP BI is an asset.
