Manufacturing Production, Machine Operator
The Crane Operator is a member of our Melt Department responsible for operating an overhead crane to facilitate movement of product and materials for scrapyard and melting operations. Wage starting at $22.20/hr. with $0.50 per hour increases every 6 months until the established top rate of pay is achieved. Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS (Paid in increments throughout the first year of continued employment), and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Pre-operation inspection and testing of crane and associated equipment
- Operation of overhead (cab) crane
- Communication with operators and employees on floor
- Timely reporting of equipment problems and issues
- Maintaining all equipment and documentation needed for crane operation
- Perform other department duties, as assigned
Environmental Conditions:
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
- Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
- Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience with heavy equipment or crane operation required
- Previous overhead crane experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work any shift, including some weekends
- Eligible upon hire: Company paid safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.
- Eligible after 30 days; medical/prescription drug coverage, dental, vision insurances, company provided Basic Life and AD&D insurance, additional voluntary benefits including hospital indemnity, accident and critical illness insurance, paid holidays.
- Eligible at 60 days (520 working hours): Participation in the production incentive pay program (potential to add $1-$2 per hour to base pay, based on production)
