Production Supervisor

Job Overview

Production Supervisor II (Team Leader) – Ashland BDO, Lima Ohio. This visible, significant role reports to the Operations Manager. This position directs a salaried, non‑exempt work team of 3–4 operating specialists on a rotating shift to manufacture and ship butanediol.

• Lead a rotating 12‑hour, T‑day, 5‑crew schedule; act as team leader responsible for training, needs assessment, team building, performance coaching, and job assignments.
• Operate the plant DCS and perform field tasks as part of the Operations Team.
• Ensure completion of routine operations duties and adherence to operating guidelines and daily orders.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with distribution, maintenance, and engineering.
• Provide safety leadership, develop a safe workplace, and proactively prevent incidents.
• Handle duties associated with PSM compliance.
• Support environmental operations and maintain compliance.
• Lead response activities during plant emergencies.
• Communicate and document shift handovers and business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and perform preliminary diagnostics of plant mechanical problems.

• High school graduate (minimum).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a petro‑chemical environment, with the capability to successfully lead others.
• Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
• Capability to drive value through business understanding, complex decision‑making, and initiative.

• Entry‑level position – requires solid experience and background.
