3rd shift; Monday - Thursday 8PM - 6:30AM (Must be able to train on 1st shift)
Valtir is hiring a production welder for 3rd shift to support our Lima, OH manufacturing facility by applying appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.
What you'll do:
- Performs flat fillet welds
- Fits and welds simple assemblies
- Accurately measures within specified tolerances
- Reads blueprints
- May operate automatic welding equipment (robotic welding)
- Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records.
- Follows all safety rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy.
- The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
- Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected.
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- Works on routine manufacturing assignments that have clear goals and standard procedures
- Understands Oxy Fuel Burning
- Basic Understanding of Carbon Arching
- Ability to learns job skill, company policies and processes to do routine tasks
- Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
- Receives detailed instructions and close supervision
- Ability to fit and tack weld subassemblies or to jacket
- Accurately measures within specified tolerances
