Position Overview:Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment within the facility by providing both emergency and scheduled maintenance and repairs. They utilize their technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. Additionally, they perform preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate documentation to minimize downtime and support production goals.
They support the operations team by performing maintenance and repairs on facility and manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. All activities must uphold Rudolph Foods’ Mission, Vision, Core Values, and maintain high standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position requires flexibility to work daily, including weekend overtime as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Providing emergency and unscheduled repairs to various equipment to minimize production disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
- Performing scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance (PMs) on equipment according to established protocols to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Assisting operations with machine setup as needed, collaborating to optimize equipment performance and production processes.
- Utilizing technical skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues effectively.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to execute required maintenance tasks accurately.
- Maintaining all processing and related equipment, including fabrication of parts if necessary, to support uninterrupted production.
- Completing repairs in a timely manner and accurately documenting completed work orders for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule and maintaining documentation logs to track maintenance activities.
- Ensuring a sufficient inventory of parts is maintained to minimize production downtime and facilitate prompt repairs.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support the overall maintenance needs of the facility.
- Full understanding of electrical Lock Out Tag Out and Hot Works programs.
- Full understanding of all food safety programs.
- Wear hearing protection and other PPE as required.
- Understand MSDS sheets and safe use of chemicals.
- Follow all common employee safety practices.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Report any unsafe conditions and make corrections.
- No blocking of emergency exits, fire doors, or eye wash stations.
- Obtain hot work permits for welding, cutting, grinding, or any activity requiring such authorization.
- Two-year certificate from a college or technical school, or at least two years of documented industrial maintenance experience.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, particularly with packaging equipment, is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Education or training in electrical safety and PLC troubleshooting is essential.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Commitment to comply with OSHA safety standards and safe work practices as relevant to maintenance personnel.
