Registered Nurse - Psych | 13-Week Travel RN Contract – Lima, OH
Seeking an experienced Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel RN assignment in Lima, Ohio. Join a collaborative behavioral health team on the night shift and support adult patients in a structured inpatient psychiatric setting. Located in Lima, Ohio (zip codes ), this welcoming Northwest Ohio community offers a comfortable small-city feel with convenient access to regional amenities.
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960-$2,280
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Setting: Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Unit
- Location: Lima, Ohio | Welcoming Northwest Ohio community with a convenient small-city setting
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every third weekend and every other holiday
- Unit Size: 21 beds
- Average Length of Stay: 4-5 days
- Patient Ratio: 1:5, with potential to flex to 1:6 based on staffing needs
- Patient Population: Adults ages 18+
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- At least 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- CPI preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of start if not already held
- Experience in inpatient behavioral health, adult psych nursing, or mental health nursing preferred
- Strong communication, de-escalation, assessment, and patient safety skills
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status, behaviors, and response to treatment
- Administer medications and support treatment plans in accordance with facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote patient stabilization and recovery
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment through observation, intervention, and de-escalation techniques
- Support patients experiencing major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and acute psychosis
- Educate patients and families as appropriate regarding care plans and discharge readiness
- Follow all unit policies, documentation standards, and patient safety procedures during night shift operations
