Job SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering patient care under the direction of the Physician. The LPN functions as an integral part of the healthcare team to provide the highest quality of care by preparing and assessing patients for provider visits. The LPN observes, records and reports patient responses to medical care during appointments.
Essential Functions- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs.
- Implements the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
- Appropriately labels and packages specimens as trained.
- Assists in providing indirect care through clerical or administrative duties assigned by the registered nurse.
- Acts as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examinations as requested.
- Assists providers with procedures, treatments, and interventions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
- One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred, not required).
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.
- Learn and use a computer‑based patient appointment scheduling and registration system.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with a team.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal communication and organization skills.
